OUR PROCESS
As your personal will and trust attorneys, it is our goal to make you feel like our number one priority right from the beginning!
INITIAL MEETING
Consultation
In this meeting we will discuss the needs of your family, what your goals are, and propose options and give you the opportunity to decide on exactly what your will or trust will accomplish.
QUESTIONNAIRE
Family and Property Information
Our questionnaire is online and protected in our client portal. The questionnaire asks for things like full legal names, property and basic account information, and includes a section for you to identify who you'd like to serve as a Trustee, Personal Representative, Power of Attorney, and Health Care Agent.
DRAFTING
Estate Plan Architects
Similar to how an architect drafts schematics for buildings, we will draft the specifics of your estate plan. They will be customized to you. Some of the language in an estate plan, will or trust is designed for different readers. For example, some parts of the trust are directed at the IRS. Like an architect drafting plans specific to the electrician, framer, and plumber, we will make the final project easily understood by the targeted reader-you included!
REVIEW
Reviewing Specific Document Sections
We will provide you the documents as we draft them, but don't worry, we will highlight the areas that we want you to focus on. All of our clients have access to a secure portal that allows you them to view the documents, send messages to us, and upload any documents for us to add to the file.
SIGNING
Virtual or In-Person!
We are one of the first firms in the state to be able to offer a complete virtual experience. We can review your documents online with you, and then Candace can actually walk us through the signing process and notarize your documents as we go. Of course, we still offer an in-home or in-office signing. Everything we do is built around what is most convenient for you and your family!
FOLLOW UP
Funding or Verification
Not all of our packages come with built-in assistance in transferring your assets to your new revocable living trust, however we will follow up with you and provide guidance on how to do it yourself. A great estate plan is only valuable if you know how to use it, so we'll touch base to ensure it is exactly what you are looking for.
These steps are the general process that our estate planning clients will experience. We offer the same steps for everyone from those that just need a simple will to the most complicated trust.
